Halloween is coming and it's time to start searching for the perfect Halloween costume and stocking up on lots of candy for Halloween night. Our neighborhood tends to go all out for Halloween and it's a huge deal here. Just on our street alone, neighbors set up out door movies in the driveway, serve chili for the families, and even construct haunted houses in the garages. So, of course when setting up for our own trick-or-treaters, we have to make sure our candy supply is full of the best choices!

To get prepared for the crazy amount of children coming by, I head to Wal-Mart to pick up several bags of our favorite candy items. I love that the Hershey Ghost Variety Bag and the Kit-Kat/Reese's Miniature bag are perfect for the large group of trick or treaters we are expecting. The bags are super large and packed full of all our favorite candy.

These Hershey's Bags from Wal-Mart will do just the trick for our trick or treaters! But, they are so big we needed a little extra help to pass out candy this year. Frankenstein and Dracula stopped in to help us with this important task.

We are all set for our trick-or-treaters this year!!! I cannot wait for Halloween night. It's so much fun to see all the kids dressed up in their costumes and going door to door. I know this year our house is going to be a favorite with all our delicious Hershey candy. Let's hope we I don't eat it all before Halloween night!

Even though we are all set for Halloween Night and the Trick-or-Treaters, we may still happen to run out of candy, we do live in a very large, family friendly community. So, we created this super easy Out of Treats sign to warn our neighbors and let them know, "sorry, we are out of delicious candy". There is no greater disappointment then a kid walking up to a house on Halloween and no one answering.

To make your own DIY Out of Treats Sign you will just need just a few items you may already have at home. If not, a quick trip to the craft store for a few essentials will do the trick.

Supplies:

  • Piece of wood (Hobby Lobby had this piece for $1.99). Any type or size is okay to use.
  • Ribbon
  • Craft or Spray paint
  • Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Stencil, decal letters, or vinyl cut for Out of Treats
  • Spooky Spider Embellishments (dollar tree had these).

How to Make:

1. Paint your piece of wood and let dry. You're choice of color. I chose orange.

2. Using the ribbon, measure and cut to create a handle to hang your wood sign.
3. Attach using hot glue. I reinforced it wood staples after gluing.

4. Using remaining ribbon, add bow and attach with hot glue gun.
5. Add your stencil, decal, or vinyl. You could even just hand paint the wording directly onto the wood.
6. Add the spooky spider embellishments by hot gluing onto the ribbon.

7. Hang outside once you run out of candy for your trick or treaters to see.

How do you use Hershey's candy to add something sweet to your Halloween?
