Even though it's still summertime, we will be heading back to school before we know it. To avoid the summer slide and keep their minds active, I make sure they keep reading throughout the summer. No matter what book it is, as long as they are reading, they are expanding their minds. Plus, they love to read and they love it when I read to them. Plus, since I have an early reader who is just starting out, I want to make sure he knows just how much fun reading can be. To help them both prepare for back to school, we love to start our mornings with a delicious breakfast and with help from Kellogg's, it's super easy.

When planning for our daily meals, we always head to our local Wal-Mart to pick up everything we need on our shopping list. Since breakfast is their favorite meal of the day, we always make sure we are fully stocked on some of our favorites. Plus, now with each box of specially marked Kellogg's products you can redeem a Kellogg's code for a free Scholastic book! Yes, absolutely free!!! How awesome is that!! We can enjoy a delicious treat and add new books to our own personal library at home. It's a win-win situation.

When their tummies are full they are ready to take on anything! One of my sons favorite foods is waffles. He will gobble them up and clean his plate leaving nothing behind. Knowing that I can get him a new Scholastic book in the process is even better! I love that we can expand his mind as he heads into the third grade.

Want to know how you can expand your home library with Kellogg's and get back to school ready???

Just head to your local Wal-Mart and look for specially marked Kellogg's products. Each single Kellogg's product equals one full length Scholastic book. Each person can redeem up to 30 books to add to your home library.

Once you purchase your Kellogg's product, be sure to head to Kellogg's Family Rewards to create your own account to redeem your codes. It's super easy to create an account. Simply follow the steps to enter your name and information, where to send your free books too, and once you have completed your account set up, you will be ready to go to begin redeeming your Kellogg's codes.

Can't shop in person??? No worries! Simply visit Kellogg's Back to School at Wal-Mart and look for the BUY NOW buttons towards the bottom for eligible products.

There are three ways you can upload your receipt when you purchase online, July 21 thru September 11, via text, scanning into your computer, or using the Kellogg's Family Rewards App. Ecommerce redemptions are made via receipt scanning.

You only have 14 days to redeem your codes, so be sure to enter quickly!

When you're ready to redeem your codes, simply look for the 16 digit code inside your specially marked Kellogg's products. Head to the Kellogg's Family Rewards Center, and select ENTER CODES.

Once you enter all your codes, visit the REDEEM PAGE. You are given two choices, Choose Your Book or Donate a Book. You can choose to donate a book to the school of your choice. Select either Order Now or Donate Now.

You can now choose between 80 books from all ages and levels of readers, including Spanish books. Beginning readers, middle readers, and up to Tween/Teen Readers, there is something for everyone including E-Books.

Let them choose a new book on their own that they will be excited about. Reading is fun and meant to be shared. Read together as a family or let your kids read to you or to each other. Fill their library with books of different genres to help them discover the right book for them.

Be sure to check out more books available via this Kellogg's offer. Please allow 6-8 weeks for books to arrive, even though most come sooner. All codes must be entered by 3/31/16. All books will be mailed free of charge to wherever you choose. E-Books cannot be donated.

I'd love to know what your favorite book is being offered! #Back2SchoolReady
