I cannot believe that we are already preparing for back to school. Where did the summer go?!?! Time flies when you're having fun and boy did we have a bunch of fun this summer! From sports camps to art classes, swim lessons and sleepovers, we packed in as much fun as we could. But, now we are preparing to head back to school and that is kind of exciting too. New clothes, new supplies, new friends, and new teachers are awaiting my boys when school starts in just a few short weeks. So to ease any fears they may have about heading back to school, I gave the boys a delicious back to school breakfast with a few of their favorite breakfast items like Jimmy Dean® Pancakes & Sausage and Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Links & Patties and of course milk and juice.

The 1st day of school is always so crazy! Trying to figure out how to get everyone ready, dressed, fed, and cleaned up, bags and lunches packed, and out the door in time for school before the bell rings is always hectic. Sometimes we are throwing together whatever we can find for breakfast. It's hard to send them off for the day knowing they didn't get the best breakfast possible. I love that Jimmy Dean® Pancakes & Sausage and Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Links & Patties help me provide a great breakfast for my boys whether we are in a rush or right on time. Just throw them in the microwave and go! Simple, easy, and fast! Something that I need in the mornings!

My boys are at the age that anything served on a stick is way better than anything not. Plus, Jimmy Dean® Pancakes & Sausage combine the two things my boys love most, pancakes and sausage, plus as an added bonus, it's on a stick! Since I am not much of a cook, but I do try, Jimmy Dean® Fully Cooked Links & Patties makes a great addition to our breakfast plate. They gobbled them up faster than I could get them on the plate.

Make your own DIY Felt Pencil Banner:

Materials Needed:
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Glue - I used Tacky glue but a glue gun or glue for material/felt will work too
  • Ruler
  • Felt - gray, pink, cream, yellow, and black. I used 8-1/2 x 11 sheets from the craft store.
  • Ribbon

How to Make:

1. Fold yellow felt in half, cut, then fold in half and cut again to form 4 rectangles.
2. Using a ruler and a pencil, measure the yellow felt and cut to the size of 6in x 3in.

3. Measure and cut the gray felt to 1/2in x 3in. Then cut a zig-zag pattern across one side.
4. Measure and cut the pink felt to 1-1/4in x 3in
5. Measure and cut the cream felt to 3in x 3in. Then fold in the edges to a point and cut to form a point.
6. Cut the black felt to fit into the point on the cream felt.

7. Once all pieces have been cut, begin assembling by gluing pieces together.
8. Glue the pink strip onto the straight edge of the yellow felt.
9. Flip the yellow felt over, (pink will be in back) glue the gray strip over the seam between the pink and the yellow felt.

10. Glue the cream felt onto the backside of the yellow felt.
11. Finally, glue the black felt to create the lead.
12. Let dry. I let dry over night to insure it was fully dried.

13. Once dry, you can use as is or use as a banner as I did. Using scissors, cut two slits into the pink end and string ribbon through and hang.
