Homemade All-Natural Pasta Sauce

A few months ago we decided to change the way we eat and how we eat. I want the best for my boys and these days it's so hard find foods that are not filled with so many chemicals and pointless ingredients. So, I have been switching all our current foods that we enjoy with more all natural and organic items. The transition has been amazing and we are finding these foods are more available in the stores and have no trouble finding them. With pasta being one of our favorite meals to cook, I decided to try this all natural pasta sauce recipe I found on Pinterest, by Fit Foodie Finds. It was delicious and so good! The boys cleaned their plates and with only 4 ingredients, it is 100% clean!

Ingredients:
  • 8-10 large organic tomatoes
  • 2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 large basil leaves (organic)
  • 6 cloves of garlic (organic)
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)

1. First, preheat oven to 400F and lightly spray a cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.
2.Next, prep tomatoes by cutting them in half and placing them in baking sheet facing up. (I placed a sheet of aluminum foil in pan, sprayed with organic olive oil cooking spray, before placing tomatoes into pan.)

3. Drizzle with Olive Oil and season with salt and pepper.
4. Place fresh basil leaves and garlic in same pan.
5. Roast at 400F for about an hour or until the tomatoes begin to brown.

6. Once cooled a bit, place everything into a food processor, basil and garlic included, and process until smooth. Add more salt and pepper to taste.

Once all ready, pour into a jar, freezer bag, or into a pot to cook for dinner.
Enjoy!!!
